PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

LEGAL PRACTICE:

Deputy Public Defender: Coconino County, Arizona, trials and appeals, since July 2001.

Assistant Attorney General: managed Flagstaff, Arizona Office, and represented Child Protective Services in Coconino, Navajo, and Apache Counties. Oct. 1999-July 2001.

Private Law Practice:  Primarily Juvenile/Child Welfare, some Family, Criminal, Probate , and Contract Law. February 1994-October 1999.

Maricopa County Juvenile Judge Pro Tem:  November 1996-October 1999. 400 hours of total service.

Phoenix Municipal Court Judge Pro Tem:  May -October 1999.

Assistant Attorney General:  represented Michigan Department of Social Services, Wayne County Children and Youth Services Division.  Daily trials and numerous appeals.  December 1988–January 1994.

Parent’s and Children’s Defender: on retainer with Washtenaw County, Michigan Juvenile Court:   represented indigent parents and children in cases of child abuse/neglect and  juvenile delinquency at all stages at trial level.  January 1984–October 1987.

Association with Muraski and Sikorski, Ann Arbor, Michigan:  maintained primary responsibility for a few files at a time and assisted on others.  Property Law, Contracts, UCC.  June 1985–May 1987.

Attorney in Private Practice: practice included cases in divorce, custody, adoption, probate, and criminal law.  May 1983–Dec. 1988.

Instructor for an undergraduate psychology course on children and institutions at University of Michigan.  May–Dec. 1982.
